The following instructions assume you've installed Textpattern 4.0.4 OK and you haven't altered anything or added any content. For fuller instructions on installing the Texty template, please refer to fullinstructions.txt in the zip download file.

Preliminaries

  1. Create a new folder next to the images and files folder on your website. Call it 'templates'. Chmod permissions to 777, ie full access.
  2. File transfer the whole local Texty folder over into the remote templates folder. When done you should have the following directory structure: root of your site > templates > texty > forms, images, pages, plugins, style, write.
  3. Open 'switch.php' in your local folder and change "localhost/texty" to the url of your site (twice). File transfer it to the root of your site.

Create docs, list and nav categories. Assigning 'nav' to an article will cause it to be added to the main navigation. Assigning 'list' will put it into a list of related articles at the end of an article.

Articles

Edit 'First Post'.
Custom field 'twocol': Type in 'yes'
Category 1: docs
Category 2: list

Write

Please create the following 3 articles in the order specified, copying from your local texty write folder. They are needed to show how various parts of the template work.

  1. Front. This is needed for the front page and should have an ID of 2. If it hasn't you open texty_contentdef and texty_side2def and alter id="2" to whatever your id is.
  2. Texty. Needs an ID of 3 which can be changed in the texty_side2def form if necessary.
  3. Access. An accessibility statement that also shows how the nav works.

Test and Enjoy!
