Waffle Cone is a Textpattern template designed for Texplates '07.
As you install this template I recommend saving a backup of Textpattern's default Pages, Form, Styles, etc. Backing up these items is easily accomplished by using the "copy page as" option at the bottom of each respective Presentation admin section.
Waffle Cone is designed by Hugh Roper. Editable Adobe Illustrator CS2 files are included for changing the color scheme.
To install this template you will need to upload a few images copy and paste a few items.
The template package has the following structure:
Use an ftp client and upload the three files that reside in "images" directory of the template package to the "images" directory in your Textpattern installation.
If you don't have FTP access to the website, you can upload every image through the Textpattern admin interface. If you use the admin interface, please note the image filenames may change during upload (2.gif, 3.gif, etc.) and the Style CSS will need to be adjusted to reflect the new names.
Each text file in the "pages" directory of the template package matches an existing template page with the same name. Within the Textpattern admin, go to Presentation -> Pages, then replace all appropriate pages, using the contents of that directory.
The pages that will need to be replaced are; "archive", "default" and "error_default"
The "default_form.txt" text file in the "forms" directory of the template package matches an existing template form with the same name. Within the Textpattern admin, go to Presentation -> Form, then replace the contents of default form with the contents of "default_form.txt".
The "footer_form.txt" text file in the "forms" directory of the template package does not match an existing form. To install it go to Presentation -> Form, within the Textpattern admin, then select "Create new form", paste the contents of the "footer_form.txt" file, type "footer" in the "Name (required)" field, change the "Type" to be "misc," and click the "Save New" button.
Go to presentation -> styles, then replace the default stylesheet with the contents of the "default_style.css" file in "style" directory.
If you were unable to access your Textpattern installation through FTP, and had to upload the images using the Textpattern admin interface, rename every reference to the images "url()" in the stylesheet according to the new filenames after uploading images (2.gif, 3.gif, etc.).
Go to presentation -> forms -> footer and edit the text, or just delete it if you don't like it.
Your website should now sport the Waffle Cone design, but check to make sure everything works. If you customize your Textpattern install by changing the Site Name, Site Slogan, Sections, Links and Categories your changes should be automatically reflected in the design of the site.
If you have Adobe Illustrator you can customize the colors of the design using the Adobe Illustrator files in the "images_source_ai" directory. You'll have to update the CSS style as well.
